Screen Printing is another way of decorating apparel.  It provides an inexpensive way to get a lot of coverage on a particular item.  However, it does not provide the luxurious texture or durability of embroidery.

We use screen printing where necessary to make a larger pattern than is practical with embroidery.  

However, on small runs the cost savings are minimized, as the set up costs for screen printing start catching up with embroidery, especially with the use of multiple colors.
